Welcome to The Higher Institute of Education and Science (ISEC), a portal where you can find all the information about the Institute, as well as  about the academic and scientific activity that guides it.

Officially recognized in August 1991, the ISEC is defined as a private establishment of higher education and research, a non-profit institution whose mission is to provide scientific, technical, cultural, educational, professional and human training. As a public institution, the ISEC wants to point to a growth focused on the needs of the country as well as on the statutory objectives pursued, thus contributing to the development of a qualified, integrated and harmonious higher education in Portugal.

This mission is mainly accomplished through a training project led by high standards and inspired by principles of ethical and humanistic basis, to prepare educated citizens of culture and skilled professionals. The appropriateness of an education training project to a professional performance quality depends largely on a complete integration of the scientific knowledge in practical life.

That is why the experience of learning, characterized by intellectual curiosity and the spirit of research is, in our educational project, one strategy of integrating theoretical and practical knowledge, critical reflection and professional lifelong learning.
